Week 15 Renders - The Layouts

There are two layouts within the community that work together. These layouts are the concrete hole grid and the dwelling layout grid. The two grids site perfectly on top of one another and relate to one another. The first image below shows the concrete cut-out square grid. This grid works on a 6 x 6m grid  and any of the squares can be taken out. The removal of these squares allows for cross floor ventilation.

The image below is the dwelling layout grid. These are the basic property boundaries and they sit on a 12 x 12m grid. These dwellings can be halved or a person is able to occupy two dwellings or even on multiple levels. This is when the concrete cut out grid an the dwelling grid work together. In a single dwelling people will have two concrete cut-out squares. If they live on two levels, they can remove a cut-out square, alternatively if they live on one level, they can cover the squares up with ceilings and floors. The grids directly next to the vertical shafts are removed so that there is public space directly adjacent and surrounding the shafts. This allows space for vegetation to grow and people to enjoy. The concrete squares are still able to be removed in these locations.
